Hi.

I’m Liz. I’ve been working in the design field for twenty years, having first honed my aesthetic instincts as a visual artist. After completing my BFA in printmaking in 2005, I quickly landed what I figured might be a fun summer job at an up and coming furniture shop called Stylegarage. As the business has grown, so has my love of design. I developed new products for the in-house made-to-order brand, sourced accessories, styled the showroom, and I loved connecting with clients, helping them feel confident about making choices for their homes. Those connections have ultimately inspired me to branch out, to offer design services independently, so that I can delve deeper with my clients and build a practice centred around the joy of creating a beautiful home.

My work is grounded in the understanding that the earth is our first home and as such I will always encourage clients to consider the full life cycle of the pieces they choose. Where did it come from, who made it and what will happen to it when it’s no longer of use to you? I truly believe that the design choices you will be most proud of, and the ones you will have the most fun with, will be those that have stories to tell. “It belonged to my grandma,” or “we got an incredible deal on it at this little thrift shop,” or “the woman who makes them is literally magic” will beat mass-produced, disposable design for me any day.

If any of that resonates with you, I can’t wait to get to know you better, and hopefully roll up my sleeves for your next design project.
